Operations Manager Jobs in Kent.  Zest Scientific Recruitment is currently recruiting for a high caliber Operations Manager who demonstrates an excellent knowledge of quality theory, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies and tools.  The Operations Manager will lead all operational functions involved in the production and distribution of plastic consumables for the Research / Laboratory market; managing a team of approximately 30 reports at my clients Kent manufacturing facility.  Tasked to drive change and ensure continuous improvement, utilising contemporary Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain concepts.

The Operations Manager will take an holistic approach and will need to demonstrate strong people management skills, forging relationships with a broad spectrum of personnel covering: Shift Management; Quality Assurance; Technical / Engineering; HR; Finance; R&D, Product Management; Distribution; Sales; Procurement and Production Planning.  The production environment is an injection moulding facility and applicants will clearly demonstrate a track record of delivering improvements through the review of processes for manufacturing, maintenance, planning and warehousing in a similar manufacturing environment. 

The successful candidate will come from a Scientific / Engineering / Business educational background with significant experience of progressive manufacturing operations (Medical, Automotive, Food etc.).  Candidates will need to demonstrate excellent knowledge of quality theory, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies; prior six sigma experience is desirable.  In addition, experience in GMP / Medical Devices manufacturing and quality systems (ISO 13485) is equally desirable.

From a leadership perspective, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing change and driving process improvements with prior formal training and implementation experience in lean manufacturing concepts (5S, pull systems / kanban, value stream mapping, kaizen).  SAP experience is beneficial and previous MRP experience is essential.
